What Is a Bracing Roll Forming Machine?

A Bracing Roll Forming Machine is an automatic cold roll forming line designed to produce metal bracing profiles from steel coils. These profiles are commonly used in steel structures, building framing systems, and other structural applications.

Main Components of a Bracing Roll Forming Line

1. Feeding Machine

Feeds the steel strip into the production line and maintains stable material movement. When punching is required, accurate feeding is important for achieving the specified hole spacing.

2. Punching Section

Punches holes or slots in the steel strip according to the product drawing. The punching die, hole layout, and control method are selected based on the profile design.

3. Roll Forming Machine

Forms the flat steel strip into the required cross-section through a series of roller stations. Each station gradually bends the material to achieve the target shape and dimensions.

4. Cutting Section

Cuts the formed profile to the required length. The cutting method is selected according to the material thickness, profile shape, production speed, and cutting requirements.

5. PLC Control System

Coordinates feeding, punching, and cutting operations. Operators can set production parameters through the control interface, making the production process easier to manage.

6. Servo Drive System

The servo-driven feeding system controls material movement and positioning according to the programmed production sequence. When combined with the punching and cutting systems, it helps coordinate hole positions and finished profile lengths.

Note: Welding is not normally required for the continuous roll forming process itself. If the finished product requires welded joints or additional welded components, the welding process can be evaluated separately according to the product drawing.

Why Are Profile Drawings Important?

For bracing profiles, the cross-sectional shape is only part of the design. Hole diameter, hole spacing, edge distance, material thickness, and finished length can all affect the machine configuration.

A PDF or CAD drawing is preferred. If you do not have a complete drawing, a clear sketch with dimensions and hole positions is a useful starting point.

Automatic Size Change for Bracing Profiles

If you need to produce two different sizes of bracing profiles, an automatic size-change roll forming machine can be a suitable solution.

The system uses PLC control and touchscreen operation, with servo motors driving the forming stands along linear guide rails through ball screws to adjust the forming positions.
